Apps #SSSVEDA Day 3

So for SSSVEDA today my goal was really experimentation with environments particularly around light and ambient noise and trying to figure out what you can and can't get away with in video. On a side note I did find myself planning my words a little less so I'm on the slow road to speaking more naturally.

Hummingbirds, Squirrels and Ducks #SSSVEDA Day 2

Day 2 of SSSVEDA and things are a little bit easier, I was defiantly a bit more comfortable although still over thinking things from time to time.

On a side note I have no idea why I would ever confuse a squirrel with a meerkat, they look nothing alike. It was scurrying along the opposite bank of the river (which was behind the camera) and was really cool because I didn't there were squirrels in this part of Jo'burg.

Hi my name is... #SSSVEDA Day 1

So this is my first submission for SSSVEDA. In my head it seemed significaly easier then it was in practice, as a result I ended up forgetting about mos of what I wanted to say. This was largly due to the fact that I was trying script everything in my head as a way to feel more comfertable, which I now know was the wrong way to go about this.

It's the little things in life that matter

As I casually strolled to my motorbike, my mind wondering a self-constructed maze of contemplation; what happened next was surprising.

On reaching my bike I proceeded retrieve my helmet and gloves from the topbox, while doing so I noticed a man and this small son (maybe 4 years old? I have never been good at figuring out such things).

Oil on the road

So... I'm ridding towards a traffic light which is on a decline. I notice the road doesn't look right, it's darker than it should be, at this point I have one of two choices. Slow down or run the light... I opted to slow down as the dark patch appeared to be diesel.

Aegir / HipChat integration

I recently started using HipChat to centralise and broadcast notifications specificity for an Aegir server my company manages. The end result is the Aegir HipChat module which uses tasks like Verify, Migrate, Backup etc. to send success and/or failure messages to a room.

Here is a quick how-to to get you started.

10 Myths About Introverts

Myth #1 – Introverts don’t like to talk.
This is not true. Introverts just don’t talk unless they have something to say. They hate small talk. Get an introvert talking about something they are interested in, and they won’t shut up for days.

Life on a stick

Its been a while I last blogged, its about time i did.

So much has happened these past few months, I got a Laptop (finally), I've been to England then went to Cyprus for three months. One week before leaving Cyprus my laptop broke down (Its the last time I buy an HP). I went back to England then finally arrived back in SA.

Its now been almost 2 weeks since I sent my laptop to be "repaired" by Incredible Connection with their "Only Windows works" mentality. Even though I told the tech that it was freezing in both Ubuntu and Vista and on several occasions it would freeze before booting the hard drive.
